How Photography Connects Us

What is photography to you? To some, perhaps it’s a remembrance, a memory, a return ticket to reminiscence special occasions and moments with someone whom we hold close to our heart. The photo encapsulates and freezes a moment. It shows the event, the story, and the feelings behind the event. It can be a story of joy, grief, adventure, environment, health, and more.

Photos connect us to the world through stories and emotions – our feelings. The same photo may strike a different emotional chord with different people. As an individual’s feelings vary within the same photo, it tells a different story and connects us to the world in different ways. However, very often, one’s emotion evoked by the photo is what one’s associates the element in the photo with, which could be affected by prior experiences.
